The royal wedding is on as planned, in full swing of preparations

SANTA MONICA – While it is reported that Meghan Markle’s father suffered from a heart attack a week ago, TMZ reported that nothing about the wedding is being changed — not even Markle’s father walking her down the aisle. Thomas Markle told TMZ in an interview on Tuesday that he plans to still walk his daughter down the aisle Saturday should the doctor clear him for travels.

“I hate the idea of missing one of the greatest moments in history and walking my daughter down the aisle,” he told TMZ. “Of course I’d walk her down the aisle. This is a historic moment. I’d like to be a part of history.”

With the royal wedding on Saturday, wedding preparations are in full swing. People reported a gorgeous array of white and pink flowers being loaded outside of the royal florist’s shop Tuesday. The truck began to fill up as flowers in plastic containers, ornamental vases, branches and three sets of ladders were locked and loaded for decorating this week.

“I am excited and honored to have been chosen by Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle to create and design their wedding flowers,” royal florist Philippa Craddock said in a press release.

“Working with them has been an absolute pleasure,” she continued.

But the flowers aren’t the only preparations taking already rolling out for Saturday. Claire Ptak of Violet Cakes posted a couple of pictures of her preparations for the royal cake. The royal baker showed off the six crates of lemons set aside to start on Prince Harry and  Meghan Markle’s wedding cake. Four hours later, Ptak posted a photo of what can only be presumed as the start of the royal couple’s wedding cake.

“I can’t tell you how delighted am to be chosen to make Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s wedding cake,” Ptak told reporters.

With things well underway, all that’s left for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to wait and left everyone else execute the plans they’ve spent months creating. The couple can now stand back and let everything play out while Meghan can focus on checking in on her father during his recovery.

And as Ptak so perfectly summarized below her picture of the lemons, “So it begins…”
